On 27 April 2026 Ministry of Environment announced amendments to the regulatory framework governing listed toxic chemical substances and their operational management, revising multiple appendices under the "Categories and Management of Handling for Toxic Chemical Substances." The amendments specifically update Appendix 1 (Point 1), Appendix 2 (Point 2), Appendix 3 (Point 3), and Appendix 4 (Point 4), which collectively define the classification, handling requirements, and control measures for toxic chemicals within Taiwan's regulatory system. The revised provisions are scheduled to enter into force on 1 July 2026. These changes aim to strengthen the management and oversight of toxic chemical substances, ensuring that regulatory controls remain aligned with evolving scientific knowledge, industrial practices, and environmental protection priorities. The updated appendices may include revisions to the list of regulated substances, classification criteria, and operational requirements for their manufacture, import, use, storage, and disposal. By refining these elements, the Ministry seeks to enhance risk management and reduce potential harm to human health and the environment. The amendments are part of Taiwan's ongoing efforts to maintain a robust chemical management system, providing clearer guidance for industry stakeholders and regulatory authorities
