Australia has announced a recall of certain herbal products sold by Greenstorm Foods t/a Austral Herbs due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, peanut, raising potential health risks for allergic consumers.
The recalled products, marked Best Before 8 December 2028, were distributed through independent retailers across New South Wales (NSW), Queensland (QLD), Victoria (VIC), Tasmania (TAS), and South Australia (SA), and were also sold online nationwide.
According to the recall notice, peanut was not declared on the product labeling, resulting in a breach of allergen declaration requirements and presenting a food safety hazard to consumers with peanut allergy or intolerance.
Consumers with peanut allergy or intolerance are advised not to consume the affected products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with health concerns related to product consumption are advised to seek medical advice.
The recall highlights the ongoing importance of robust allergen control and accurate labeling to protect sensitive consumers and maintain food safety compliance.
