French Broad Chocolates PBC has recalled select lots of its Bette’s Bake Sale Bonbon Collection due to undeclared walnuts linked to a labeling error, prompting a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall notice. The recall covers 6-piece, 12-piece, and 24-piece boxes bearing batch numbers 260414 and 260417, distributed between April 14 and April 20, 2026 through retail stores in Asheville, North Carolina and online sales to multiple U.S. states.
The issue stems from a printed tasting guide error in which Walnut Fudge and Peach Cobbler bonbons were misidentified, creating a risk that consumers with walnut allergies could unknowingly consume a tree nut-containing product. According to the company, no illnesses have been reported. Consumers with tree nut allergies are advised not to consume the affected products and to return them for a refund or discard them. The recall was issued with FDA knowledge and highlights allergen labeling risks associated with product inserts and supplementary labeling materials.
