"On April 15, 2025, the French Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Economy issued an order suspending the importation, introduction, and marketing (both free and for sale) of dietary supplements containing Garcinia cambogia Desr. and all preparations derived from parts of this plant for a period of one year. This precautionary measure follows a report by the French Agency for Food, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) dated February 12, 2025, which identified acute risks associated with the consumption of supplements containing Garcinia cambogia, even among healthy individuals. The order mandates the withdrawal of affected products from all locations and requires consumer recall actions. Additionally, distributors must issue warnings to consumers about the potential dangers of these supplements. The costs associated with these actions are to be borne by the responsible parties."
