Japan has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a proposal to revise the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for the fungicide Mepronil under the Food Sanitation Act. The measure was notified through WTO SPS Notification G/SPS/N/JPN/1417 and would amend the Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food Additives, Etc. The proposed MRL revisions apply to a broad range of food commodities, including: Meat and edible meat offal (HS 02.01–02.09) Fish, crustaceans, mollusks, and other aquatic invertebrates (HS 03.02–03.08) Milk, dairy products, eggs, and honey (HS 04.01, 04.07–04.09) Animal products, fats, and oils (HS 05.04, 15.01, 15.02, 15.06) Vegetables, roots, and tubers (HS 07.01, 07.02, 07.04–07.07, 07.09, 07.10, 07.14) Fruits (HS 08.06–08.08, 08.11) Cereals and grains, including wheat, barley, oats, rice, and other cereals (HS 10.01–10.04, 10.06–10.08) Oilseeds and oleaginous products (HS 12.12)
