Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular No. 40/2026/TT-BCT, promulgating QCVN 31:2026/BCT, the National Technical Regulation for food-grade cassava starch products. The regulation establishes quality, food safety, microbiological, heavy metal, labelling, product declaration, and traceability requirements for domestically produced, imported, and exported food-grade cassava starch. The Circular will take effect on 1 January 2027, with a 12-month transitional period allowing existing self-declared products to remain compliant unless food safety concerns arise.
