On April 9, 2026, World Trade Organisation (WTO) circulated Addendum G/TBT/N/PER/163/Add.1 notifying the publication and entry into force of the "Regulation of Legislative Decree No. 1570, which approves the Law on Integrated Management of Chemical Substances." The measure was communicated by Peru under the Committee on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) framework. The addendum confirms that the final regulation was published on April 8, 2026, through Supreme Decree No. 005-2026-MINAM issued by the Ministry of Environment of Peru. The regulation establishes the implementing provisions for the national framework on the integrated management of chemical substances, originally notified as a draft under G/TBT/N/PER/163 in August 2024. The regulation sets out the legal and operational framework for the management of chemical substances throughout their life cycle, including control measures for production, import, handling, and environmental protection requirements. It strengthens Peru's chemical safety governance system and aligns national procedures with integrated chemical management principles. The measure will enter into force six months after its publication in the Official Gazette "El Peruano."
