"The Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) has prohibited the commercialization, distribution, manufacture, importation, promotion, and consumption of all batches of Ouro Negro Extra Virgin Olive Oil, citing unknown product origin and classification issues. The product, imported by Intralogística Distribuidora Concept Ltda., has been disqualified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), particularly since the importing company’s registration (CNPJ) is suspended by Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service. The enforcement action follows Anvisa's investigation and is effective immediately to protect consumer health and maintain regulatory compliance. Simultaneously, Anvisa has mandated the recall of 13 batches of Kinino brand Himalayan Ground Salt (500g), distributed by H.L. do Brasil Indústria e Comércio de Produtos Alimentícios Ltda. The recall was voluntary and initiated by the manufacturer after testing revealed iodine content below the required legal standards. Adequate iodine levels in cooking salt are critical to preventing iodine deficiency disorders such as goiter and fetal developmental problems. The affected batches, with expiration dates up to March 2027, have been suspended from sale and distribution. Additionally, Anvisa has ordered the seizure of Chá do Milagre (Miracle Tea), a product with unknown composition and unregistered manufacturers, marketed with unauthorized medicinal claims such as cancer prevention and weight loss. This product is banned from sale, distribution, manufacture, advertising, and consumption, underscoring Anvisa’s commitment to combating misleading health claims in the food and beverage sector."
