India has issued a draft Veterinary Health Certificate for the import of poultry meat and poultry meat products. The certificate establishes the required health and safety documentation for imported poultry, ensuring compliance with international standards, particularly the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code (Chapters 6.5, 6.6, and 6.9). The draft aims to protect public health by preventing the introduction of animal diseases through imported poultry products, while facilitating trade by providing a standardized format recognized by all trading partners. Comments on the draft are open for 60 days from the notification date.
