"On September 2025, Indonesia’s Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) released a draft regulation on the Certification of Good Cosmetic Manufacturing Practices (CPKB), inviting public input until September 26, 2025, through bit.ly/KP-CPKB. The draft updates and replaces BPOM Regulation No. 33 of 2021 to align with the provisions of Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024, implementing Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health. It aims to strengthen regulatory oversight, ensure cosmetics meet safety, efficacy, and quality standards, and formalise certification procedures for cosmetic manufacturers. The proposed regulation details requirements, documentation, and inspection procedures for obtaining a CPKB Certificate, including compliance with 12 key aspects of the quality system, such as personnel, sanitation, production, equipment, and quality control. It outlines verification timelines, data submission rules, and corrective actions for nonconformities, ensuring transparent and standardised certification. Once enacted, this regulation will serve as the primary legal basis for cosmetic GMP certification in Indonesia, enhancing industry accountability and consumer protection."
