The Australian Government has opened public consultation on eight draft chemical evaluation statements, now available for comment until 28 November 2025. These evaluations cover 942 industrial chemicals and provide updated safety information regarding their use, manufacture, and import. Their status on the Rolling Action Plan has shifted from “in progress” to “under public consultation,” reflecting the next step in the national assessment process. In addition, two draft evaluations propose variations to Inventory listings under section 86 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019. These include azo dyes based on 5-nitro-2-thiazolamine and toluenediamine derivatives (EVA00166) and Bisphenol A dimethacrylate (EVA00179). Stakeholders, including industry and the public, are invited to provide input to help ensure chemical management decisions are transparent, science-based, and protective of human health and the environment.
