On September 15, 2025, the WTO circulated a notification from Egypt regarding Ministerial Decree No. 245/2025, which mandates compliance with the Egyptian Standard ES 9106 for wet wipes used for cleaning and/or disinfecting surfaces. The products fall under the chemical industry sector (ICS 71.100). A six-month transitional period is provided for producers and importers to comply with this standard. The draft was previously notified under G/TBT/N/EGY/495 on 4 December 2024 and is aligned with the earlier standard ES 4106. Egyptian Standard ES 9106 is harmonized with the following international regulations and standards: -Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 -Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) -Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) -OEKO - TEX STANDARD 100 -ES 4106
