Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) has published Normative Instruction No. 452 of 10 June 2026, the amendment introduces a series of updates to the authorized uses, technological functions, maximum permitted levels, and conditions of use for food additives and processing aids across multiple food categories. The revisions are intended to modernize Brazil's food additive framework and reflect current scientific assessments and technological needs within the food industry.

1.Cyantraniliprole added with new MRLs of 1.5 mg/kg in chili peppers, 20 mg/kg in kale, 120 mg/kg in long beans, and 120 mg/kg in mustard leaves.
2.Cymoxanil authorized with a new MRL of 0.05 mg/kg in tomatoes.
3.Dinotefuran MRLs updated to 2 mg/kg in milled rice, 24 mg/kg in chili peppers, 50 mg/kg in sweet peas, 0.5 mg/kg in kale, 0.5 mg/kg in watermelon, 0.5 mg/kg in eggplant, and 1 mg/kg in cucumber.
4.Epoxiconazole assigned a new MRL of 0.05 mg/kg in bananas.
5.Fipronil assigned a new MRL of 0.01 mg/kg in black and white pepper.
6.Sulfoxaflor added with MRLs of 4 mg/kg in milled rice, 0.5 mg/kg in chili peppers, 0.5 mg/kg in watermelon, and 0.3 mg/kg in tomatoes.
7.Trifloxystrobin authorized with a new MRL of 3 mg/kg in curry leaves.
The regulation updates authorized pesticide residue limits across multiple food categories and commodities.
