Canada has officially adopted the proposed maximum residue limits (MRLs) for lambda-cyhalothrin originally notified under G/SPS/N/CAN/1585 on 5 February 2025. The revised limits entered into force on 11 May 2026 through inclusion in the Maximum Residue Limits Database.

The newly established MRLs include 0.03 ppm for fat of goats, hogs, horses, and sheep, and 0.01 ppm for eggs; meat and meat by-products of goats, hogs, horses, and sheep; poultry fat, meat and meat by-products; and milk. In addition, under PMRL2025-03, Canada has revoked the previous lambda-cyhalothrin MRLs for apples (0.3 ppm) and peaches (0.5 ppm). Residues in these commodities are now regulated under the default MRL of 0.01 ppm applicable to food commodities without a specific established limit.
