The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has initiated a public consultation under the CLP Regulation regarding the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) of chemical substances. This initiative aims to promote consistent hazard communication throughout the European Union. Participating dossier submitters are tasked with proposing hazard classifications or revisions to Annex VI of the CLP Regulation. During this process, stakeholders are encouraged to provide their comments, scientific data, and supportive evidence, even concerning hazard classes that may not have been classified at the outset. Specifically, for silver chloride (EC 232-033-3, CAS 7783-90-6), the consultation is being led by Sweden, running from 27 April 2026 to 26 June 2026. The focus of this consultation will be on evaluating the proposed hazard classifications and any pertinent additional information submitted. All received comments will be published to ensure transparency, and they will be reviewed by scientific authorities to enhance regulatory decision-making. This process is critical for maintaining harmonised EU chemical safety standards, thereby facilitating safer industrial practices and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
