On May 18, 2026, European Chemicals Agency launched a public consultation on the harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) proposal for the reaction mass of gibberellins GA4A7 and gibberellin GA4 under the European Union Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation. The dossier was submitted by Slovenia and proposes harmonised classifications for Eye Irritation Category 2 (H319) and Hazardous to the Aquatic Environment Chronic Category 3 (H412). Multiple additional hazard classes have also been opened for public commenting, including acute toxicity, skin irritation, respiratory sensitisation, reproductive toxicity, specific target organ toxicity, and aquatic hazards. The consultation period began on May 18, 2026 and will remain open until July 17, 2026. Stakeholders are invited to submit scientific comments and supporting data relevant to the hazard classes under evaluation. The substance has also previously undergone consultation on its assessment report as a plant protection product active substance through the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
