On May 11, 2026, the European Chemicals Agency published ongoing public consultations on proposed harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) updates for multiple chemical substances under the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation. The consultations cover substances including: 1. Cobalt bis(2-ethylhexanoate) sulphuryl difluoride 2. cobalt Di hydroxide [1], cobalt (2+) propionate [2], cobalt (II) 4-oxopent-2-en-2-olate [3] chloroethane 3. Cobalt oxide The proposals include new or revised hazard classifications related to carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, endocrine disruption, acute toxicity, skin and eye irritation, environmental hazards, ozone hazards, flammability, and specific target organ toxicity. Stakeholders are invited to submit scientific comments, supporting evidence, and relevant hazard data during the consultation periods, which generally remain open for 60 days, with deadlines ranging from 11th, May 2026 to 10, July 2026 depending on the substance.
